The West Lancashire Conclave of the Scarlet Cord No. 539 was Consecrated on 24th August 2009 at Westhoughton Masonic Hall by M.Wy.G.S.R. Bro. Michael Guest assisted by a team of Grand and Provincial Grand officers.

R.Wy.Bro. Ian H. Taylor, Prov.G.S.R., was Installed as the first S.R. of the Conclave.

Since the Consecration meeting it has been decided by Grand Conclave that the Ancient and Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord will be created as a Sovereign Order administered from Mark Masons' Hall in London on 21st July 2010.

To facilitate this separation within West Lancashire Province, it has been agreed by the members of Conclave No. 539 that 2 additional Scarlet Cord Conclaves should be established within the Province of West Lancashire before the creation of the Sovereign body on 21st July.

The R.Wy. Prov.G.S.R., Bro. Ian Hamilton Taylor carried out a double Consecration on Tuesday 15th June 2010 at Westhoughton Masonic Hall assisted by V.Wy.Bro. Brian W. Wood, Dep.Prov.G.S.R. who Installed R.Wy.Bro.J.A. Bibby, P.Prov.G.S.R. as the S.R. of Wyrebank Scarlet Cord Conclave No. 574 and Wy.Bro.J.M. Reed as S.R. of Cuerdley Scarlet Cord Conclave No. 564.

Wyrebank Conclave will meet at Wyrebank Masonic Hall, Garstang at 11.00 a.m. on the 4th Wednesday of November (Instn) and the 3rd Monday in February.

Cuerdley Conclave will meet at Widnes Masonic Hall, Kingsway, Widnes at 6.30 p.m. on the 3rd Friday of October (Instn) and the 4th Thursday in March.

Provincial Supreme Ruler Goes Touring (Again)

In what has now become an annual event, the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R.Wy.Bro. Ian Taylor accompanied by Wy.Bro. Alan Briggs, Prov.G.Guide, Wy.Bro. Mike Hamilton and Kenny Brookfield set off on 23rd April for a visit to the Provincial Grand Conclave meeting of the Province of Channel Islands in Jersey.

It had originally been planned to visit a Conclave in Spain but due to Grand Conclave declaring that all Conclaves in Spain where no longer acknowledging the Supremacy of Grand Conclave an alternative visit was quickly arranged.

Happily this coincided with the Investiture of a new Provincial Grand S.R. for the Channel Islands and a most agreeable visit was enjoyed by all.
